_MissionsWe at Clinton First Wesleyan Church are focusing more carefully on ways that we can share God’s love.  Recently we identified specific ways that we can all be involved, exerting minimal effort that will provide great benefits.

  • We are saving items to assist a local school in getting educational equipment. Thank you for saving your Box Tops for Education. There is now a box in the Junior Church room clearly marked for these labels. Clip  the Box Tops for Education item from participating products.  These include General Mills, Betty Crocker, Ziploc, Avery office products, Huggies, and Kleenex, along with several more.   For a more complete list, click here.
  • We are saving Campbell’s Labels to assist those who serve as the hands of Jesus through Hephzibah Ministries, a Wesleyan ministry in Macon, GA.  Hephzibah Children’s Home serves disadvantaged children who have been placed in their care. The labels will be collected in the special bin that (for now) sits downstairs just past the drinking fountain.  For a more complete list, click here.
  • Shop for items to go to the Memorial Methodist Church food pantry.  Several churches here in Clinton provide assistance to those in need of food.  We were pleased to find that Memorial Methodist is one which does.  They operate an organized food pantry which twice monthly serves at least 60-80 families. Those in charge of the Memorial Methodist food pantry provided a list of suggested items that we can purchase to aid in this project.   Jeff Hamilton III is organizing a collection area for this purpose.  Suggested items to buy for the pantry are listed below.
  • Lenten banks. Lenten season (a 40-day period of preparation for Easter) has been a time in church history in which Christians have, like their Lord, been called upon to sacrifice in order that the message of the Gospel may be advanced. Under the direction of the Missions Committee, to date over $300 has been raised through our Lenten Banks to help support local ministry/missions.
  • "Christian Yellow Pages" for our church.  We want to be able to provide you with referrals to Christian businesses and workers upon whom we can rely.  Thank you for completing the yellow referral forms.
